Episode 42: Identifying Your Training Intensity and Effort Based Training

Running in the proper training zones is important.  Varying intensity, duration, and effort allows your body to make different types of physiological adaptation, all of which makes you a better runner.  In this episode, I discuss training intensities and how you can use effort based training principles to help you with your improvement as a marathoner.

The following diagram is described in the podcast.  It shows the heart rate training zones, matched up with the rate of perceived effort:
